Rethinking that

After finishing that last post, I really thought about it. Bill Simmons comparing Bird and Papi is kind of like what happened when I grew up. It's kind of like how Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the Rock were all pretty great...but they never matched the utter charisma, entertainment, and true intensity that Hulk Hogan brought to those of us who watched WWF during the 80s and 90s. Plus, he gave such a good message with his 3 demandments...training, prayers, and vitamins...and then adding his fourth demandment: Believe in yourself!!!

It is because of this lack of superpower that I rarely stop on RAW anymore, unless Shawn Michaels is fighting, but even that isn't that entertaining anymore. However, I have spent many a day on Wikipedia reading wrestler bios this summer. I also spent 2 hours watching Hogan Knows Best last Friday...and even watched some MSG Classics earlier tonight (how can you pass up a match between the Hart Foundation and the British Bulldogs OR Hogan v. Flair circa 1991?).

Hulkamania was, and is, better than anything they could bring. Hogan was at the top of the mountain, and the most anyone can do now is hope to match him. Like the Sports Guy said, when climbing Mt. Everest, you can't get any higher than the top. Hogan is the top of my childhood superhuman sports hero ladder...he just is...I can't defend it, but I know it's the truth. Because of that, I bring you these, in honor of the Immortal Hulk Hogan...and one more thing...WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN HULKAMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU?!
